City Manager

Under the general policy guidance from the Mayor and City Council, the City Manager, plans, organizes, integrates, fiscally controls, directs, reviews, administers, and evaluates the activities, operations, programs, and services of Midvale City.

He serves as the Chief Administrative Officer of the City and has direct responsibility for carrying out the policies, programs, and ordinances determined by the City’s elected officials; has the responsibility to develop, present, and implement the City’s budgets; ensures City government operations and functions effectively serve Midvale City’s residents, businesses and stakeholders.

Matt Dahl
City Manager

Matt Dahl has nearly 20 years of local government experience. He began his career in Salt Lake City, where he worked for 13 years, rising from project coordinator in the Redevelopment Agency to Deputy Director of the Housing and Neighborhood Development Division.  While in Salt Lake City, Matt managed numerous commercial, housing, and infrastructure projects. Since 2007, he has also served in the senior leadership of the Utah Redevelopment Association, which provides technical support for redevelopment administrators and works with legislators to improve redevelopment throughout Utah. Matt began working for Midvale City in 2017. During his time with Midvale, he has served as the Redevelopment Agency Director, Community Development Director, and Assistant City Manager. He also represents Midvale City on the Utah Infrastructure Agency Board and served as a Commissioner on the Utah State Commission on Housing Affordability.
